We have been really busy settling into our house for the past 2 months, and now we have to take on another big project - getting rid of the weeds in the back yard. Hopefully we can turn our back yard into something more than just work....we got a lot of great ideas from friends including herbal garden, veggie garden, zen garden...or just bark...

Mr. Yu
Mr Yu smiling at the camera. We like working with him. He has very strong work ethics and claims that he would pick up our phone call in the middle of the night....
and he loves cooking too. He claims that he knows how to make 60 dishes and that his BBQ pork (cha-siu) is very good. He cooks for his crew at the job site!
Rice @ Job site...
My little gem!
Lesson Learned
When Vincent did his CA (construction administration) today, he did not notice the dis-alighment between the tile and the wall cabinet. Not much good options at this point - 1) move the wall cabinet but there will be a gap between the hood and the cabinet, 2) a skinny strip of tiles going up against the wall cabinet, but that seem to highlight the discrepancy, 3) leave it as is
The wall cabinets actually line up with the base cabinets, the discrepancy comes from the countertop overhang...
Lesson learned - draw better interior elevation

One more week to go!
Ikea flooring- looks pretty good! You get what you paid though. Definitely the lower end product but should last for the next few years. Considering it's only 89 cents a sq. ft. (as compared to the original price of 2.29 dollar per sq. ft.)it's definitely best value for money.
Mr. Yu repainted the doors and trim since he wasn't very happy with what Mr. Fung did. No sign of Mr. Fung since then....I guess renovation/ remodeling is one brutal industry....
Wall and floor tiles are in! some patching up to do
