Mr Fung

Mr Fung is from the Guangzhou area and has moved to the greater Seattle a few years ago. He has been the most active player in this project other than Mr Yu! Unfortunately he didn't verify whether he was using oil-based vs. latex based paint for the window trim and door......now we are ended up with latex-based paint....(according to Mr Yu latex paint is not as good for window trim and doors...)

that gives us a chance to test out the latex-based paint, i suppose.

Mr Fung did a nice job on the kitchen ceiling lights though!

Mr Yu in action! Busy patching the kitchen ceiling.

The Tile Story

We (I) found this round dot tiles called Penny Round and I like it!!! Either the blue or green ceramic tiles will do!! However I don't like the price tag. It costs $5.75 per square ft...it would cost us over $300 for the bathroom floor alone...

Then we found this simple clean white tile that costs $1.09 per square foot. There is no room for further discussion between the penny round and this....sad....

BUT! looking at this tile closely, I found another reason to support using it - check out the little cute elephant at the back of the tile! Nice to have some association with the Thais!

So we have officially started our remodeling project -

- 15 ikea coupons
- 15 hours @ ikea
- 100 bigger pieces to be delivered...
- more trips to ikea next week

Mr. Yu our contractor made an overwhelming impression! We didn't expect him and his multi-chinese dialect crew to have completed the demo in a day!
